na, i don't recon its matty
Its either Matty or Daffyd.
How could Elf be both the Seeker and the Destroyer?
easy at the moment she is innel because atthis is there, talking and advising and guiding her. but if atthis dies, coz she is an old bird, ariel might then make his move and somehoe persuade elf to become the destryer. not like atthis dies and ariel says' becom the destroyer' and elf goes ;okay' but more slwoey, like he will keep showing dreams of her loved ones being killed/ dead and then tell her something like you have to d something and they wont die and then she will become destroyer. ingenius isn't it!
Sounds like a good theory
well I can't take all the credit, lots of others ahve thought of it aswell!

Could Ariel persuade Elspeth to change sides? [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/undecided.gif" alt=":-/" border="0"/>
It could be that the killing power is the Destroyer side of Elspeth, and Gahltha, Maruman and Atthis are there to keep her on the good side, and stop her from giving in to the power. She has said that the power seems to have a will of its own
Maybe the 'killing power' of Elspeth's could be likened to the One Ring in the LOTR. It can gradually corrupt the bearer, and turn all they do for good to evil.
Maybe if she keeps her power bottled up for too long it'll start to corrupt her?
Quote:i think i'm going to stay permanantly undecided with the destroyer [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/cheesy.gif" alt=":D" border="0"/>
unless someone convinces me [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" alt=":P" border="0"/>
same... maybe we should have a competion. whoever can convince us wins something...
I may be way off the mark, but is there red soil in Queensland?
If that's the case, could the Land of the Red Queen actually be in Queensland, Australia?
Queensland isn't abundant in red soil.
Northern Territory and South and Western Australia are. So it might be there.
KSL
it might be...
interesting...
i read the matthew destroyer theory. it could be true, but still... i'm not convinced
Maybe IC included Australia in the books somewhere. It is her home afterall!
We do have the Redlands Shire in QLD...
Anyway, I dunno about Oz being in Ober Chron...LotRQ is overrun with Gadfians. I know that New Gadfia or LotRQ or whatever wasn't their original home...but if LotRQ is Oz, where are the Aussies? Surely in the huge expanse of land, someone native would have survived?
Besides, in TKP, when Elspeth is on the Dreamtrails in LotRQ she sees Zebras, Giraffes and a bunch of other African animals...
ok ok!
It wasn't the best theory, but i thought it might be interesting.
*stops clutching straws*

Nono! Don't stop theorising! It's all good [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/grin.gif" alt=";D" border="0"/>
lol! I havent. I'm trying to think up new ideas at the moment
good. coz i love reading obernewtyn theories!
Me too...you all come up with such interesting ideas [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/>
I prefer to just sit back and speculate on your wonderful musings
*leans back in chair, twiddles thumbs, and whistles as she reads*
Same here! [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/>
It's very interesting how we all have different views on one subject... Some theories here are some I could never come up with!
Because I am a member of both this site and Carmody Online, I have seen a lot of wacky theories [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/wink.gif" alt=";)" border="0"/>
Here is what Aisling said, from Carmody Online:
Just reinforcing my thoughts, because people seem adamant to resurrect this topic, I think the weaponmachines are on the moon, yet the stronghold that operates them somewhere on earth. Besides, you'd get more of an angle to blast the whole world if your from the moon *smiles*
I thought that was cool [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/wink.gif" alt=";)" border="0"/>
hmmm...
That would explain why Maruman doesn't like the moon!
In theories, you're never wrong until proven so!
And that proof seems a long way away, to me [img]http://s4.images.proboards.com/cry.gif" alt=":'(" border="0"/>
