At this year's Melbourne Writers' Festival the Centre for Youth Literature interviewed a bunch of authors about young adult (YA) writing, including Myke Bartlett, AJ Betts, Isobelle Carmody, Cath Crowley, Ellie Marney, Richard Newsome, Alice Pung, Penny Tangey, Carole Wilkinson, Lili Wilkinson, and Claire Zorn.
We were only alerted to its presence yesterday, but this interview is a great one - in which Isobelle discusses The Obernewtyn Chronicles, what inspired her to write it in the first place, writing for YA and children in general, and that she is thinking about adapting The Obernewtyn Chronicles into a TV series one day.
Isobelle Carmody has recently done an interview with David McDonald from Ebon Shores as part of the Australian Spec Fic Snapshot for 2014.
If you're on facebook then you've probably already seen it, but in case you're not; Isobelle was interviewed by Country Style magazine while she was back in Australia during March, and the interview has now been published in their April 2013 edition.
Posted with permission from the lovely Ms Rowena Cory-Daniells, we have a wonderful new Isobelle interview archived here on Obernet.
Our Penguin contact Felicity has passed us a newly-uploaded video in which Isobelle talks about her writing, drawing and life with her family in the lead up to the much anticipated sixth book in The Obernewtyn Chronicles, 'The Sending', in her beautiful hometown of Apollo Bay.
With permission and thanks to the ABC's Off the Shelf program, we'd like to draw attention to Isobelle Carmody audio / interview from 2009, where she discusses which books she turns to for inspiration.
