There was a wonderful interview posted today on TLC Book's blog, which they've given us permission to post in our Interview archives here: TLC Books Interview with Isobelle Carmody.

In this interview, Isobelle answers questions about why she loves fantasy writing, the pressures of waiting fans, which writing form she prefers, and a number of other interesting topics - including a few tidbits about The Sending and The Red Queen, such as:
...For me it is especially interesting because in the final Obernewtyn book, Elspeth deals with a people who are ancestors/survivors of Asians, and the book is very much drawing on my reflections... ...we will meet Straaka’s brother in The Sending and he has a really interesting character arc...
Many thanks go to Tanya at TLC Books for conducting the interview, and letting us repost it here! And thanks go to TLC Books - you can like their facebook page here. TLC Books are a small independent bookshop in the heart of Manly, QLD.

    Interesting to read she thinks her best writing is in short stories.
    And she's reading Murakami! Will have to read the interview again when I'm more awake.

    I'm thinking the Asian people are the Tumen Isobelle Tweeted about. This makes it all so much more exciting!

    An excellent interview for sure! I personally liked this line:

    Absolutely! My dear editor said recently that she was not sure she liked Dameon and I defended him as ferociously as if he were my best friend. I mean how could anyone not like Dameon?

    The little bits of info are certainly very interesting too :)

    oh yay! We get to read more about other cultures - this knowledge coupled with reading the re-edited versions of the Obernewtyn chronicles is starting to pique my interest & excitement again ^.^;
    Fantastic - bring on the next installment!!
