Day 20: 487 words
Total: 19,444
Wasn't feeling it last night. But I will strive to hit 20,000 tonight!
Look how close you are to 20,000! Best of luck with your writing tonight, Jossie. :)

I'll be honest, I may be cheating just a little, but I'm going to do it anyway. I have just had a busy day, and though I should be sleeping right, I have fit in a writing session. The cheating part is the fact that is past midnight so no longer technically Day 21 - but I'm going to count this as Day 21! The trade off is that I will do a writing session tomorrow (or really Day 22 but at night).
Day 21: 625 words
Total: 20,069
Goal for tomorrow (or later today) is to write 2000 words to make up for my not being able to reach daily word targets and missing a few days of writing. Ideally I would love to get to 30,000 by the end of next week, but being Christmas and new years with a lot of stuff happening, I'm not sure I can make it. I will attempt 2000 words when I can write for the new week, just to ensure I don't fall too behind!
You're still doing brilliantly well, Jossie. Over 20k already - what marvellous progress! And regarding the whole night thing, we always do that. A night isn't ended until you put down your pen and head off to sleep.
TWENTY THOUSAND WORDS!
So awesome!

I don't think it was cheating at all! Something similar happened to me in the middle of NaNo when I updated my word count at the end of a session and discovered it was five minutes past midnight, so it had all gone onto the next day instead.
Keep up the fantastic work, Jossie. :D
I always used to continue writing until about 3-4am (having 5am starts at work often puts a stop to this now) and all words produced used to get counted as one day. Darga used to refer to it as Shonk time. It's totally not cheating :nods:
AND BIG CONGRATS ON THE 20k
Day 22: 1281 words
Total: 21,350 words
Not quite 2000 words, but words nonetheless.
Thanks for the the congrats, guys. I really love to think that in 3 weeks I've managed 20,000 words!
It's a fantastic achievement! And you're maintaining the pace, which is fantastic to see. You're so close to halfway already!
Absolutely! You're an inspiration :).
Indeed you are, my goal is to beat your word count :P
Absolutely! We must all chase Jossie and her incredible lead. :D

Thanks, guys. :) And you all can definitely catch up to me! I only hope that I can continue to go so well with writing - it is so easy to fall off the writing habit, isn't it? But I passionately do NOT want to ever forget/fall off this writing spree I am on now. I think the fear of falling behind or stopping this great writing momentum I have is something that helps to make me write.
Tonight was a tough - I had a hard time focusing. Although some of the procrastination was looking for some pictures of what I imagine my characters to look like. This then led to a some inspiration with descriptions and incorporating it into the story.
It would also appear that with the start of holidays I am finding myself more easily distracted. When I finally sit down to write, I am finding lack of focus/lack of ideas… until late (like tonight!).
Day 23: 1334 words
Almost half way!
Merry Christmas everyone!
Though I've produced very little words due to Christmas and busy-ness of holidays, I have been somewhat productive: I continued to look through photos until I finally settled on what Kalea would look like! In addition to this, I did some notes on overall storyline (where it's headed/motives). So there was some productivity!
Today I wrote 1355 words… I've kinda lost count of how many days it's been!
Ohh, almost at 25k! How exciting :). And yes, notes and photos are definitely productive :D.
Knowing what characters look like is handy. Great work so far. I'm in awe.
It is important to know what everything looks like - it helps so much in bringing the place to life for your readers. (As opposed to my approach, that generally involves letting people make it up for themselves...)
So close to half-way!
Why isn't there a party smiley? :rolling: <-- This one doesn't adequately express my enthusiasm.
Today's words were 1,785. That brings me past half way! YAY
Total: 25,824
With holidays, I am finding it harder to fit in writing in the times that I usually allocated to writing. But I will ensure I make time. I need to catch up.
Today's the end of week 4. By end of week 5, I would like to be at the 35,000 mark, if possible!
Awesome work, Jossie. And good luck for next week.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one finding it strangely difficult to fit writing in to a lot of spare time! When I was at work, it was easy: I wrote in the evening. And now that I can write whenever I like, it somehow doesn't happen with quite as much discipline. Here's hoping we both find a way to conquer this!
Huzzah for exceeding your halfway mark! :D
Pretend yous are still working. Sit down and write at the same time you normally would. If you did anything specific before youd usually write, try soing that too. I guess just maintain a routine--though this is something I struggle with since my work hours can be pretty random at times so I can't actually set a certain time of day for writing :(
Sigh... I sat in front of my laptop staring at a blank screen or procrastinating for a good few hours last night
Happens to all of us (to most of us more than it happens to you). Don't despair!
It's so easy for that to happen, even with the best intentions.
I was going to say, None of that tonight! and then I remembered it was New Years Eve. That might provide something in the way of reasonable distraction.
Thankfully I have started old age early and instead of have a huge night out, I'm having a normal night of just going to the movies (though Gold Class!) and having dinner with a friend who has just arrived from Sydney.
So before that happens, I have made myself spend most of today trying to write and managed 1,101 words. I want to make up for lost words, so am aiming for 2000 words overall. I'll update on overall progress today!
Dedication, Jossie. That's what we like to see :). And old age is underrated in the getting-home-early-so-I-can-do-useful-stuff department :P.
