Obernewtyn was published when she was 29, though regardless of age she was presumably much more at the mercy of the publishers than an established, best-selling author would be.mornirkirara
But I think it is also fair to consider that, Isobelle published her first book when she was 14
It would've been so much better if Carmody had just said:
"I'm not sure how long this series will last, I'm not sure when the next instalment will be and I'm in no rush to finish it - I'm just going to do whatever I feel like doing, at my own pace."

and to everyone that is say give her a break, look at all the other books she has written over the course when she could have been finishing up the obernewtyn series. It is really not acceptable.

I will NEVER read another series from her again.
On the other hand I'd like to be able to go back and talk her out of writing The Gathering. Or at least make sure I don't read it.Sian
If someone invented a time machine with the intention of going back in time and convincing IC to focus on Obernewtyn and not write Scatterlings, the Legendsong saga, Little Fur etc so that the series would be completed sooner, I would sabotage their time machine

I will NEVER read another series from her again. I love here books but i cant stand how long it takes for her to write them, and is always missing deadlines. Unacceptable. If i was to do that in my job, i would be fired.
She needs to get better, and finish the books. I really dont care if there is less store as long as its over.
