ooohh thank you thank you, Tonks!!! *hugs* :D
Spoilers for ep 10, Vincent and the Doctor
Loved it! I don't know if any of you watched Confidential, but it was interesting to hear the writer talk about portraying mental illness.
I agree with Min, the scene where they take Vincent to the museum was amazing, as was the Doctor's explanation about mental illness and why just because they didn't cure him doesn't mean they didn't do a good deed.
DO - it's an interesting theory that you thought the Doctor was going to tell him about synaesthesia. I didn't hear the line you mentioned, but I'm not sure how literal he was being. I have seen documentaries on synaesthesia before though, it's a really interesting quirk of the human brain. However, when the Dcoctor was going to tell him he's not mad, I thought he was going to explain about mental illness and depression. He sort of started to say it, before Amy cut him off.
Anyone else going crazy over Ep 12?
*raises hand*
WOW. All the baddies, working together to stop the Doctor. That was amazing. I had theorised at the start that the only thing that could be in the Pandorica would be the Doctor, or perhaps the TARDIS itself. That the painting Vincent did of the TARDIS exploding was it emerging (in an explosion :P) from the Pandorica. That sort of ties in with the Dream Lord episode, the whole, only one person in the universe who hates him that much (himself).
YAY FOR RORY! But NAY for him being Nestene Plastic! ARGH! Does that mean that he is, really, dead? That since everything in that ep was a construct of Amy's mind...he's not really going to come back?
And River - I'm more convinced than EVER now that she's the Doctor (the 13th, I think). Particularly with the Dalek's "only the Doctor can drive the TARDIS". But then...perhaps that was there to throw us off :P I dunno. I want the Curse of the Fatal Death ending :P
Gotta dash and for the record - yet again - 2 part-ers are TORTURE!
EPISODE 13
oh look I'm filling the side bar with filler...
OH. MY. GOD. *explodes*
can I just say - hands down, thats my FAVOURITE series ever? There wasn't an episode that I didn't enjoy - I think I just LOVED Eleven, Amy and RORy SOOOO much that every episode was just so enjoyable!!
ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! *sobs with joy* *does happy dance* oh my god my heart melted at all that is Rory and his absolute devotion to Amy - TWO THOUSAND YEARS gaurding a box!!!
I absolutely LOVE that I was still trying to work out WTF was going on right up until the last minute!!! I kept sneaking glances at the clock in the last 10 minutes trying to figure it out!
i was tyring to work out who Amy's parents were - I did have a brief moment of wondering if maybe Amy was the Doctor's and River's daughter... but couldn't work out how that would work, I was a little surprised that they were just there, but then again that does make sense that suddenly her very normal human parents were just there again.
This episode just makes me so so happy! I don't think I've enjoyed a final episode this much - as far as I can remember (on little sleep...) the previous finales were touched with sadness,
Quick summary of fave things after all this gushing:
Rory.
Rory guarding a Amy's box for 2000 years
The Doctor stealing Amelia's drink from before for later...
Amy remembering the Doctor♥
"Something borrowed, something blue, something old and something new!" I squeeed! thats just awesome ^_^
Amy's still a flirt even after marrying Rory.
The fez.
The Autralian polar bears, the Nile Penguins (am watching Confidential at the moment, didn't notice that the first time, was too busy biting nails)
*melts*
Thankfully, I managed to commandeer the loungeroom for this episode - there was LOTS of squeeing, clapping and WTF'ing at lots of this episode.
I can't believe I ever doubted Matt and Karen. *fangirls* I ♥ their chemistry they have - it makes everything so much better - I love watching Confidentials to see the two (well three incl. Arthur) of them mucking around together :)
/gushing and squeeing. off to wait for bbc to upload episode to rewatch
*bows down to Moffat*
Gah why did this season of Doctor Who seem to fly by so quickly??
Brilliant episode!! As usual this series keeps me guessing! <3 it!
[act]SQUEE[/act]
Episode 13: Oh Doctor Who -- having overarching storylines for one season just isn't cool enough anymore now is it? NoooOOoo, you have to taunt us some more.
Still, I LOVED LOVED LOVED the final.
The whole idea of the Doctor being the one in the pandorica should have actually been obvious considering he has been flaunting the fact that he is the scariest thing in the Universe, since, pretty much ever. It just made perfect sense and I love the storyline & at the end of episode 12 I had absolutely no idea where it was going to go, so I was very, very pleased with the last ep.
The last episode was just so quirky & fun, while still gripping & serious. As a whole I've found this season to have been a lot more dramatic than fun compared to the earlier seasons, but this episode just goes to show how well it can work when done correctly.
The next season shall definitely be interesting since they are continuing on with storylines produced from this season. Poor Tardis, it sure has been doing a lot of blowing up lately . . . How they are going to explain why it did this time is definitely something I'm itching to find out.
Also I'm actually really happy that both Amy & Rory are still travelling with the Doctor. Considering their relationship (especially Doc & Amy) it would have just been too unlikely that they wouldn't have, at least without Amy having a hissy fit anyway.
I wonder whether he will get himself another fez or not? :P

LOL Maz!! I think you'll be safe enough to use that now XD
Episode 13!
I love it when they focus so much on the knitting together of interesting elements of the story, more than just wowing people with supposed 'epicness' and explosions (as they tended to do at the end of Tennants era). This is why the Bad Wolf thing was so awesome in 9th's, and I don't think it's been repeated as well since.
When Amy came out of the Pandorica...when the Doctor (w/Fez XD) kept popping back and forth with the vortex manipulator to Rory (Eilidh - totally - *squee*)...and yes, the drink off Amelia, etc. I love that they started to manipulate time properly, since he is supposed to be a TIME LORD :P and hope we see more of this!
Couple of things I wondered about at the end-
- was the 'remember what I told you when you were seven'...about her parents? Or about the old/new/borrowed/blue TARDIS?
- I'm wondering if Rory and Amy remember just the Doctor, or everything (ie, their travels with the Doctor) at the end. Technically (in their timeline) now they never travelled with him :(
- River. How did she get back to wander past the church..? And that means that she remembered the Doctor...right? I am still hoping that she's the 13th Doctor btw :P and yea Maz - she didn't annoy me quite so much this episode either.
Can't believe it's over already! [act]sigh[/act]
Episode 11
I found myself liking this episode less than some of the others. I felt like I spent most of it waiting for something to actually happen. Despite this, it was fun watching the octor fail at pretending to be an ordinary bloke, and I loved the way he aced all the others at soccor (paricularly since it was mostly genuine.
For those who saw the confidential after, did anyone else find Karen Gillan got rather anoying? I was interested in the stuff she was talking about but her giggling and gushing got on my nerves.
Looking forward to next week
Episode 13 - The Big Bang
Fantastic finale!
Rory was great! He overcame the Nestene programming, punched the Doctor and then guarded Amy for 2000 years!
So it wasn't a Dalek/Angel hybrid after all, but a sort of fossilised one.
Its great that as the TARDIS was dying it saved the Earth and kept it warm.
Loved the scene between River and the Dalek, where she made it beg for mercy!
The TARDIS is the ultimate good luck charm for a wedding, as its old, new borrowed and blue!
More mysteries from River -
Doc: Who are you?
River: You'll find out soon. And i'm sorry, but everything changes.
Could the Egyptian Goddess loose on the Orient Express in Space be the setting for the Christmas tale?
Min: The 'remember what I told you when you were seven'... was about the old/new/borrowed/blue TARDIS?
As for your second question: When Amy remembers the Doctor he is brought back into existence, therefor everyone else he has met remembers him, and Amy and Rory would remember travelling with him as they already had. Its one of those paradox things (or wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff)
If any of you didn't see Dr Who confidential, SM said that next season they would be focussing more on the silence, and on finding out who blew up the TARDIS. My money is still on Omega...
Episode 11
I quite liked this week. I missed the postcard everyone else seems to have seen (I was watching it on iView, somehow my hard disk doesn't seem to have recorded it this week - or someone deleted it on me!) but I did wonder about the painting.
I loved the soccer scene! I thought it was hilarious!
I liked the resolution to the episode, but it seemed a bit rushed. I thought the cat was going to be involved again, or at least the Doctor would say bye to it at the end.
Amy finding the ring in the Doctor's pocket was amusing, I was thinking like Min that she will get the idea that the Doctor is going to propose to her.
I love how they put in all these tiny little things that only hawk-eyed viewers spot (and then tell the rest of us on the internet), like the Diana and Charles wedding date.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG (repeating to fill the side bar :P)
anyway ep. 13 the Big Bang....
This was AMAZING! ;D I loved it! I was gripping the seat till the end trying to figure it all out (although I guessed that she would remember the doctor- i was just waiting in the last bit).
Rory guarding the Pandorica throughout time was sooo sad (and loveable).
I don't know how river came to be there at the end- got a bit complicated in my head. But I agree that she might be the 13th doctor- there's just so much we don't know about her!
Agh I'm still in shock. I can't wait for Christmas! (it seem so long, its going to be sad in the meantime with no dr who ep to look forward to every week!).

Thanks for the site Tonks! I was working and lost track of time and had missed episode 12! I'm just about to watch it now :-) Just have to wait for my slow internet.
I know it's a little thing but how do people think the Docter got his hands on 3000 pounds in episode 11? I like to imagine him ringing up an annoyed Brigadier and demanding back pay :-)
EDIT: Just finished episode 12 (which was fantastic! :) ) and have an out there River Song theory. What if she's Romana! but turned human like with the Master and Doctor with the watches.
Episode 12 was awesome!
I agree with DO and Min, seeing all the baddies together in one room was fantastic. And I loved the start where everyone was passing the painting on to each other, and then the world's oldest graffiti which no one had ever read was River writing 'Hello Sweetie'!
DO, I'm not entirely sure River does marry The Doctor, I thought that was more her letting people guess for themselves and not telling them if they're right or wrong. But at the same time, Min, I thought the Daleks saying only the Doctor can pilot the TARDIS was just that they had never seen anyone else do it and they assumed. Most of his recent companions couldn't, so it's a fair assumption.
I so want to know who the big baddy is! It takes some effort to read Amy's mind, create plastic people and pilot the TARDIS from outside it! And, most if not all of the baddies we normally think of were at the Pandorica putting the Doctor away, I don't think they're conducting it.
I thought the Doctor was already going to be in the Pandorica or something, after River said the line about how the big magician usually ended up being him. But I guess him being put in it is close :P
Can't wait for next week!!
Mind officially blown by ep 13, The Big Bang
I shall join with you all in the cries of 'Rory!!' He used to just be 'meh', but I loved him in this episode. Can't believe he guarded it for 2000 years! And the painting of him pulling it out of the fire was pretty good too! I thought the Doctor was going to grab him and make him come, but it was better to meet back up with him in the future.
I liked Amy's powers of being able to remember people back into existence who had been swallowed by the cracks, because the crack had been pouring the universe into her mind for years. So she remembered Rory and her parents back when the Doctor flew himself into the TARDIS, and then I knew she would remmeber the Doctor back. It was interesting seeing her try, loved how it turned out to be a play on the 'something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue'.
I, like DO or whoever said it, also loved how he was showing he was a real time lord and manipulating time. Loved all the jumping back and forward, and how he looked around and was like "Right, is there anything else I haven't done yet? Oh yes, Amelia, how did you know to come here?"
Min - I agree with DO, the 'remember what I told you when you were seven' was his roundabout way of saying something old, new, borrowed and blue, so that she could remember him back. She was already going to remember her parents back because he told her to do that before he flew the Pandorica into the TARDIS sun.
LOVED how he went back to the Angels episode, I have been waiting ages for him to do that!
I agree with whoever suggested it, I think the Christmas special will be the Egyptian goddess lose on the Orient Express in space. I can't wait until Christmas for it though!
Why is this season only 13 episodes?! I want MORE!!

I'm going to third that comment! I got a bit behind on DW so I only watch ep. 11 a couple of days ago and eps. 12-13 back to back today. So I am full of joy.
Episode 11
"How do you turn this on?"
Episode 12
Rory as a plastic Roman Legionare... squee! And I too expected the Doctor or the TARDIS to already be inside the Pandorica; so it was especially exciting for him to not be there yet. Making Stephen Moffat the new head writer was an absolutely genius move!
Episode 13
"I'm River Song, check your records."
"You are late for my wedding!"
"It's a fez, I wear a fez now, fezes are cool."
And the fact that he spoke to her during the Byzantium-Angels episode during the rewind... it thrilled me to the core.
River Song
No way could she be a later incarnation of the Doctor, it's a family show, if she turns out to be an incarnation then that just puts a whole crazy perverted twist on everything. And I don't think that she is his wife; because that's what it looks like, and Stephen Moffat is building her as a character to be this big thing and he'll probably want to shock us.
OML!!!!!!!! Episode 13!!!!! *brain explodes*
That was my most favourite episode EVER!!!!!
I love this episode because all the loose ends, mysteries and facts that didn't quite seem to fit were explained and everything (almost) was revealed.
I also think that Rory staying/guarding the Pandorica was sad/adoreable/loveable. Is it just me or was the lone centurian already a legend and Rory was just filling the part?
Min-CatEyes- I agree with your thoughts about the Doctor telling young Amelia about 'something old, new, borrowed and blue'. It was so clever! And when she was remembering at her wedding, I almost felt the mother's embarressment.
Does anyone remember in the Angels Part 2 where River was beamed up? And how before that she said she'd killed a good man? Well, I think, for a strange reason that she might've killed the doctor. Even though he can't technically die (cos of regeneration) unless he wishes. What River says at the end of Episode 13 kind of gives me that impression. "And I'm sorry. Because that's when everything changes".
The season was too short! it should be like 50 episodes! I WANT MORE!!!
@Meza
I don't think that the legend already existed, because the legend of the Centurion was very much intertwined with that of the Pandorica, and that seemed to me to be not really a legend because I thought that I was only mentioned by River after she had experienced it all.
And I also think that there's a possibility of the Doctor being the man that River killed, but I have the sneaking suspicion that we won't get anymore spoilers about her victim and the reasons for her victim for a while.
Oh. My. Lud.
[act]fills sidebar with squee[/act]
Episode 13
Oh, wow. I mean W-O-W. A few months ago, I was never really a Dr. Who fan. Sure I'd heard of it, watched a few episodes, but now I can safely say that after recapping some other seasons that this episode was an all out win.
RORY!!! For some reason I never really warmed up to Rory that much, mainly because I thought he kind of was a third wheel with all of the Doctor and Amy's mystical adventures; but waiting 2000 years and guarding the Pandorica!! Sigh... what a guy.
Previously I had thought the Doctor (or a previous/later incarnation) would be inside the Pandorica, because of course he is the being most feared in the universe; it just makes sense. But having it as a prison - and one that regenerates life - just made the victory from (another) seemingly inescapable chaos, brilliant. :-"
Also the randomly hilarous one-liners: 'I love fezes. Fezes are cool.'; 'The boy who waited - well done me.'
Random sidenote: Remember when the Daleks couldn't fly and all you had to do to beat them was build your fortress up a staircase? :P
*starts going through Dr Who withdrawals* x_X aadfgjhjjs...
Alyce..
OML, I absolutely loved that part in the rewind too. I was almost jumping out of my seat; goosebumps!!
Arrrgh, Rory ;_; As soon as he reappeared I was in full flail mode. He's so lovely. I'm so glad he and Amy had a 'happy ending'. Well not really an ending, more like a beginning. Can't wait for more adventures and to find out more about River.
I'm with you guys, everything she's saying is sort of implying that the good man she killed is the Doctor, but then...that seems sort of too obvious then. So I'm not sure. Hmm...
I'll just continue flailing over here, then.
*thrashes about*
@Fate (concerning the Random Side Note)
I remember that! It was also a shame when they changed/updated them for the new series; I really liked that this massively powerful villainous alien race had a weakness that was so simple, in a way.
[*steps back to avoid Arien's flailing*]
But I wholeheartedly agree with the withdrawal-ing.
I watched Confidential, and it reminded me of a couple of things (ep 13 spoilers):
The one thing that confuses me is how River and the Doctor already knew of the Pandorica. It was all a set up by all the bad guys to get the Doctor in it, and a lot of the set up came from Amy's mind, but how did River and the Doctor know of it when they were explaining it to her at the start of ep 12? Is there another Pandorica somewhere else / in legend and this is a copy?
Also, loved the moment at the wedding when Amy's all "Why am I crying?" and Rory replies "You're happy. You've just been married" and she replies "No, I'm sad." His face was great, for a good reason since she's spontaneously sad at her own wedding!
Loved the line in Confidential when the guy who plays Rory said the wedding scene felt like they were crashing someone else's wedding AND sitting at the top table, because they didn't know anyone in the room!
