When I started it was up to The Keeping Place, but it was about 2004/5 I think....
I started reading the series in May 2011, only a few months before the Sending came out.
Keeping place. I was about 11-12 so roughly 2001-2002. I started reading the series over the summer so I can't remember which year I actually began it in.
I started after The Stone Key was released I think, or there abouts.

Farseekers, for me - I got my copy of Obernewtyn in '93, before my 8th birthday.

I feel so old :S I started reading before half of you were even born. 1987 original Obernewtyn.
Ashling era (1996) for me. Though I read Farseekers first (like a dolt, then realised there was a book before it, and borrowed it the next day). It was when I in grade 10 - used Farseekers as my "Australian author" book in that year's English viva :P
About 22 November 1996 (yes, I know, very specific). I had had the book for a year but not read it, so I took it when I moved overseas (on 22 November) to make myself read it(because of course there are no books in other countries). I then read it 3 times in 2 days.
I started after The Sending was released; 2012.
I started it in the year of 2001, at school. Looking for new books to read, so I was browsing reading a page here, page there and I feel in love with the cover and a couple pages that made me laugh and the idea of mind powers.
I was always looking at ways to escape my family and this was one of the best.
I used to climb into the top of my wardrobe behind teddies so my mum wouldn't find me. LOL
I started about mid 2009 - after the talk IC gave at Sydney Writer's Festival that year. I think the first book of hers I read was Billy Thunder and the Night Gate, because she'd mentioned it (I think somebody asked her a question and that was her answer?) and then worked few a few others before coming to Obernewtyn. I remember seeing the size of The Keeping Place and thinking "NOPE, LET'S NOT GO THERE FIRST. OH LOOK, ALYZON WHITESTARR."
I started reading them sometime in year six, I think. My first real memory of the Ober Chrons was getting to high school and finding TKP in the library. I was so excited that I immediately chose to use it for my own-choice-book English assignment without stopping to think that maybe a smaller book would be wise >.<
I then found her other books; and proceeded to read each of the Legendsong books three times within the year, and again early the next year...
I first read this book when I was around 9 years old (The Keeping Place). I came across this book in my friend's bookcase and she had never read it before. Once I read it I was only interested in the story. It wasn't until a few years later when I read the books that I fell in love and I've been hooked since. The simultaneously running plotlines, the concepts and the whole idea of Talents has made this my favourite series. I don't think I will find anything that has got to me so deeply.
I started reading the series when i was in year 5/6 (2005/2006) - my mum ordered the first 4 (or maybe first 3) for me from book club (those magazines they bring around in class and you can order books and stuff - not sure that they still do this though). Anyway ever since this has been my absolute favorite book series - even my brothers now recognize the books just because they have seen me with them so many times (consequently though my books are now starting to fall apart :( )
Started reading in 2000 when I was 12. My cousin taught me piano and she gave me the book as a congratulatory gift for completing my exam. I have since read all the books 3-4 times each. I try to re-read them every couple of years and always enjoy it all over again. Been out of the loop recently as it has been a long time between books, so have recently discovered that The Stone Key and The Sending are out and haven't been able to put my kindle down. VERY EXCITING. My husband keeps telling me that I'm such a geek.
I found Obernewtyn in my Primary School library some time in the early 90s. (don't know if it was year 3 or 4) read it several times and then found out the library also had the Farseekers.
(small country school it wasn't uncommon not to have more than the first book in a series)
By the time Ashling came out I was one of the students whom our librarian knew loved books and would get to help her make selections for the library.
My year 7 teacher (also a family friend) bought me TKP for my 13th birthday in 1999 because she was there when I first saw it at the bookstore (we were on school camp and I didnt have enough money left to buy it!)
So I chose it as my Presentation book for Primary School graduation. Her note in my birthday card said she worried I would bust if I had to wait until December to read it.
