I think most of the reasons why the RPG games went cold is due to them getting old. I think to keep interest in them they need to be updated and changed often, with different themes. I know this site might not support that amount of change all the time.
I really enjoyed the RPG games, they were hilarious!! I really do think that if we opened up a new RPG with a theme and people to manage it and take it forward it would become popular again. For example we could have certain people aware of the basic story line and provide a short story to keep events moving, in between postings. As soon as it gets old and people get bored we stop it and start a new theme. This may have been done before but I just thought I should suggest it ^^;
That sounds like a great idea! Semi-structured RPGs always seem to work the best: it gives everyone freedom to have some fun whilst keeping the whole thing on track when needed.
Thanks Katie ^^;
I have a few ideas I think would really take off and if this was considered I would love to share my ideas
We're definitely open to your suggestions Soulweaver, so if you like post some of it here, or PM it to myself (or Arwen and Shonk) and we'll see if we can start something up!
Thanks Daniel.
I'm not sure if it has been done but a structured storyline in the same world as Obernewtyn. Considering the release date of the final book is really close I think this would be quite popular. We could place it anywhere in the world, the Red Queens Land, Sador even the Spit! We have a lot more options now that the world has opened up. We can make it even in the Gadfians land.
I think the key to making this popular is choosing a world where people are aware of the fundamental rules.
If we choose to bypass that rule, then we have to outline the basis which would be the storytellers jobs (the people who know the storyline).
I also like the idea of a post apocalyptic world in a different fashion, which is a subject that is becoming popular as well as any supernatural world. A particular world I am partial to is Kresley Cole's Immortals after dark series which anyone can read to catch up ^^;
I think this is a fun way to keep the story from getting boring and moves it forward!
That's all I got for now, thanks for letting me share my ideas!
I think I should clarify that i was thinking about the Accession part of Kresley Cole's books, not the other lovey dovey stuff haha
