I've just reread the series and you know I got to the end of it and I realized that I dont actually know if Elspeth and Rushton have a physical relationship. One minute there are indications for yes - but the next - Im not so sure. I had the feeling that Elspeth was holding herself physically from him because she wasnt able to mind merge with him.
Does anyone actually know lol?
Thank you!

Read The Sending...
:rolling:
I totally agree with LAINE if you read The Sending you will get your answer :)
I got the impression from one of the pre-Sending books that they'd been skinny-dipping together, though I don't remember now quite what was said (the term "skinny-dipping" wasn't used).

Yeah, that scene's in TSK. Actually, that's probably what confused Allira in the first place.
Also, I feel I should point out that Alirra posted the question prior the release of TS and she's probably read it by now.
I am certain they did go "skinny dipping" together but that was it, because it was their first time during The Sending, but I was slightly confused by it too because some comment was made I think in The Stone Key that was slightly suggesting.
Hehe!! That question just makes me giggle... I know I act like I'm two

Try 'Urgent Lemons' for recall of the scene. I doubt if it's online until Random bring it out as an e-book next year.
urgent lemons? i am slightly confused... sorry i feel so stupid ~:|
It's a scene/chapter from The Sending. Rushton mentions something about lemons as an excuse to get Elspeth on her own. If you had read it you would definitely have recognised it.
Haha love the reference Sionainn!!!

Yes, in TS they are physical for the first time even though they may have seen each other naked before. After all, for Elspeth bonding is of the mind more than the body.
I have my own theories about this and it goes further I have not as yet been in the put my theory to paper and put it on here but I will one day.
I really do believe that they hadn't been FULLY intimate until The Sending just because of what she says then. She may have been naked around him before then but never full given herself to him.
As Meisja has said, I imagine their was some intimate fondling and groping but they had not yet 'gone all the way' so to speak.
Contrary to popular belief, people can actually be naked without having relations :P

TSK pg.502:
Tears blurred my eyes and I knew with sudden, utter clarity that I had been a fool to refuse him them, and all the other times. This is after a dream of the skinny dipping episode.

WARNING! Do NOT read if you haven't read the sending. SPOILER ALERT!
In the sending they definitely do something in Louis larkins's shack, I know they merge minds and Rushton finds out about the quest but has Elspeth erase it from his mind in case Ariel kidnaps Rushton again. Then he proposes to her and she has to leave Obernewtyn to fulfill her quest.
Hi Destiny - for your information, if you want to include spoilers, you can use the spoiler tag - the button below the Quick Reply textbook with the yellow face with big googly eyes (sixth from the left). If you click that it produces spoiler tags, and anything you put inside those will be hidden.

Edit: darga beat me to it!
Destiny west we actually have a cool button for spoilers so they are hidden unless you click on them. It's the little shocked emoticon, if you press that and type within the code that comes up it will look like this:
spoiler
You can edit your post above by clicking on the little pen and paper icon at the top of your post, that way people can choose to see the spoiler, but it's good to let them know where the spoiler is coming from, which you have done.
