Outcasts is a new BBC Sci-Fi drama produced by Kudos (makers of Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes).
Basic Synopsis:
A group of courageous pioneers face a unique opportunity: the chance to build a new and better future on another planet. It seems that there has been some disaster which has befallen Earth, and colonists are sent out to Carpathia (named after the first ship to respond to the Titanic's distress call). We first encounter the pioneers after the first settlers have been in Fort Haven (the town) for ten years...
This is a eight part series (with a possible second series in the works). The first episode was broadcast last night (7th Feb), with the second episode being shown tonight (8th Feb)
Future episode dates:
Episode 3 (14th Feb)
Episode 4 (15th Feb)
Episodes 5-8 (no date yet, but I suspect every Monday & Tuesday night)
Each episode is broadcast at 21:00 GMT on BBC One, with a repeat on BBC HD at 22:30 GMT
The series looks good so far, though I'd say it's slightly more drama than sci-fi, but its entertaining. Its filmed entirely in South Africa, with a largely British cast (including Jamie Bamber from BSG and Daniel Mays from Ashes to Ashes).
Like Mars/Ashes, there seems to be some underlying story that we're not being told, which adds a sense of mystery to show.
