there hasn't ever been an audiobook of any of the "Obernewtyn" books recorded, has there? I know there have been audiobooks of the "Little Fur" and "Gateway" books recorded, but not the ObeChrons.
Would anyone else actually like to hear an audiobook version of the "Obernewtyn" chronicles? If so, is their anyone whom you think would be particularly suited to narrating it?

We attended a talk of Trudi Canavan's and Jennifer Fallon a few weeks back, and a question was asked about what Trudi thought of her books being made into an audio, and she commented that she couldn't listen to it for very long without bursting into giggles because of the seriousness that the speaker was reading.
Again, an audio reading would be very interesting, because it would have different emphasis (and therefore, perhaps subtly alter the meaning) of the story for a 'reader' - but then I guess, each to their own and their interpretation. Plus yes - easier access to wonderful books is definitely a plus!
I personally do not listen to audio books, and therefore have not given too much thought, and the reason I started this post with Trudi's comment was because of Trudi's reaction to someone else interpreting her books. From my side, when I heard Isobelle's reading of a snippet from TSK a few years back, I was struck a bit at how she pronounced her character's names. Obviously, that is how she wrote them, but from reading the books myself, it took me a bit of an adjustment to realise (e.g.) that 'Breetha' was actually 'Bryda' (i.e. my pronunciation). Or even 'Inlay' versus 'Inel'
*shrugs* I'm not sure - I think if there would be an audiobook, I'd be curious for Isobelle as the narrator, but then again, I think it would also be interesting to hear other voices speak for the different people. Perhaps a bit like those old storytimes on the radio back in the day? :p
you would have had to have read the books 1st i think, or just listen to the audio and not read the books...
to explain what i mean lol i am currently "listening" to The Wheel Of Time Series, such a great series, if you want an awesome read, you have to read it! there are 14 books i think but they are only like ashling size.. anyway, the point im saying is, i only ever listened to them, but i found the books in my school library and had a read, and i was like WOW the words are the same but its SOO different!
they way we read it in our minds is so much different to how the "narrator" reads it..... but i would like the ober-chrons to be made into audio books, but if there was anyone who could pull off the reading it would have to be "kate redding" she does the female parts of the wheel of time and DAMN is she fantastic at it! and for any male parts, thought there are none really, "michael cramer" would be a great choice, he does the male parts of the wheel of time! =D
