I would LOVE to see how you made the ober bunch, and to see if i can pick up any tricks with the Pen tool in Illustrator. At the moment its the Adobe program i feel most comfortable with, but i still feel like i dont know its full potential.

Thanks Ness! :D I love the pics you made for the easter egg hunt, so I really appreciate your interest! [act]hugs[/act] And I can't say I know Illustrator's full potential either, but it is definitely fun! ;D I have started working on a tute, so I'll post it in here once I work out the best way of explaining things. :) I hope there's at least a trick or two that might interest you! :P
I LOVE AI. LOVE IT. I wish my current computer had it on it, but I'm switching over to a compie that's got it in a week or two.
It looks kinda like for the outlines (on the hair, for example) that you might have used the brush capabilities on AI? I can't get my head around that stuff. I get much of the 3d stuff but not the brush stuff :-/

I love Illustrator as well - it's so much fun! :D I haven't really used the brush though. I made these mainly using the pen tool. I haven't done anything much with the 3d stuff in Illustrator... I might have to give it a go at some stage. :)
Also, I've nearly finished my tute - I was working on it on the weekend, and I've got it mostly sorted out, so it should be posted soon. :) (I know I started this thread months ago, I just haven't managed to work on it much until recently...)
slacker :P
shall be great to see it up though, I haven't really experiemented at all with illustrator. Had too many functions that I didn't want to have to work out.
The best thing to do with illustrator is to get in there and try. It really is. I taught myself how to use it like that and now i think its just technical ability rather than knowing the program that i need to work on. :D
The 3d function in Illustrator is pretty fun, but making actual shapes is a fluke half the time :P There is also this annoying overlaping edges glitch that happens when you render the shape sometimes.
Eugh, I hate the glitches in 3D. Making a soda can was hell in AI for me; wouldn't work time and time again until, quite suddenly, it worked.... >:I
But, at the same time, it's an interesting function. I like using it to make realistic signs, like you would see on the side of the road in front of a reastaurant, for ads or something.
I was part of a vocational/technical school for two years in highschool, in which I took the graphic design course, so I learned a lot about illustrator there. I was, basically, the only one to really pick it up. MY rival eventually got okay at it, though :/
But I am looking forward to seeing the tutorial! There's so much I still don't know, and it's really intriguing to see it from another point of view, too. :>
