Episode 2 was a better
So whats with the red phone and the rotating triangle symbol that appears on it?
Loved Gwen knocking out the female agent.
The part where they were making an antidote to Jacks poison with items on the plane was pure old-school Torchwood!
Slight nitpick about the above sequence though: The 'fuel-cell' battery that Gwen pours the liquid out of is from a Mac G4 PowerBook (precursor to the MacBook Pro), and they definitely didn't have fuel-cell batteries!

Episode 2:
loved the whole 'how do you make an antidote scene, ripping up all panels in the floor looking for the orange tube. The broken neck, walking backward bit could have been done better though.
Episode 3: oh my
definitely getting back to the real torchwood now but I thought some of the scenes were a little more US than UK. Jack is awesome and Gwen is so funny at times. I thought Rex was going to be eaten by his boss turning into some kind of alien but was sadly disappointed.
Just watched episode 2, finally
I quite liked it, although the head backwards thing was weird.
Making the antidote on the plane reminded me of the bit in Apollo 13 when they have to get the square filters in to the round holes. I liked the scene, although it was a bit convenient the orange pipe was in the next panel over :P
Rex's entitlement to bullsh*t bit was quite funny too, and I'm very intrigued by who's sending the text messages on the red phone with the rotating triangle.
I have to say, I wasn't as sucked in as I used to be with Torchwood, which was never as great as I am with Doctor Who. The entire episode in some ways felt like the initial setting up parts of an episode, and then it was over and it was like "Oh, that's it. I kept waiting for the main part of the episode to happen...."
Episodes 3 & 4
Episode 3:
Getting to the head of the CIA was proper old-school Torchwood, as was finding a sinister company behind the whole 'miracle day'
I liked the banter about the language differences between the UK and US.
Episode 4:
Lol at Gwens attempt at an American accent!
Now it's getting interesting! Phicorp have paid a hitman to kill Jack!
The hitmans words: 'They are everywhere, they are always, they are nowhere,... They have been waiting for a very long time, searching for specific geography. They once had names long ago....'
So who are they? I first thought that they may be gods (or the ancients interpretation of a god). Can't think of any old Doctor Who enemies that fit the description at the moment. Any ideas?
Episode 5
So now we know what they are doing with people. Burning them alive! Nasty!
That Colin Maloney character is a bit creepy, plus he shot Dr Warez and burnt her alive! Wonder if he'll turn up again.
They do seem to be dragging the story out though. A lot of what has happened in these first 5 episodes probably couldv'e been condensed into less.
Episode 6
I'm glad Colin Maloney is dead. He was a real nasty piece of work.
So who has hacked into the Torchwood lenses?
I'm intruiged as to who these people are that are controlling the 'miracle', but I still think that this series is being dragged out
Episode 7
It was cool to see more of Jack's past.
Finally we get to see some aliens (though they do look a bit like the Goa'uld from Stargate)
Bit of continuity this time: Jack mentions the Doctor, and also the Trickster (enemy of Sarah Jane Smith and the Doctor)
So who are the three men that form the triangle, and how could the Italian immigrant be behind the miracle? Unless they found something in Jack's blood that was collected in the blood-letting frenzy?
It's nice to see Nana Visitor again (Kira Nerys in DS9), and next week we get to see John de Lancie (Q)
Episode 8
So what is the blessing? Some alien technology maybe?
Considering that Jacks Italian lover had some alien tech from the Torchwood Hub, so could the blessing have come from there as well?
Nice hear Ianto mentioned again.
So Jack is dead. That revelation was sort of underwhelming, and I suspect he'll be ressurected before the end of the series.
This series is still overly long. The story could've been told in less episodes.
News on the future of Torchwood:
Torchwood's future is apparently dependent on whether RTD wants to make more. "Torchwood is not one of the shows we went into thinking about a yearly return" said Starz CEO Chris Albrecht. "It's about Russel T Davies because he has a lot of things on his plate. If Torchwood is at the top of his list, that will affect the future of Torchwood."

Episode 9
A bit faster paced but DO is right saying they could have condensed this series into less episodes. I did like the part where Jack makes the spy drink the water that will make him forget, again. The Blessing looks really odd but I wonder what it actually is???
How have you seen episode 9?? We don't get it in the UK until Thursday night

I was initially grumpy about this season. I didn't like the American setting and the limited number of original cast members - altogether it didn't really feel like Torchwood. It really grew on me, though. It's similar to Children of Earth, in how socio political it is - showing the messed up ways the governments of the world might react to a crisis. For the first half of the series I felt it was almost too similar. In the second half, when they looked more at the whys and whos, it led somewhere very different from Children of Earth, and I thought it worked. In tune with the previous season without copying it.
Now to the actual spoilers.
Episode 10
I liked the ending, but I wish they'd killed off Rex instead of Esther. I liked Esther and she had wonderful character growth, but Rex annoyed me a lot of the time. I was kind of unconvinced by his immortality (with all the benefits) afterwards. After all, Jack's was caused by the Tardis/time vortex, right? Could you replicate it, just like that?
I wish we'd found out more about the Blessing. It was frustrating, after all that build up, how we weren't actually told much.
Oswald Danes - so creepy! Kudos to them for not redeeming him.
I thought, at one point, that they were going to end Torchwood for good - kill off Jack, make it impossible for the show to return - but it looks like they're actually setting it up for another season. Will the families be the antagonists again? I look forward to finding out.
Though I enjoyed it, it still didn't affect me as much as Children of Earth. Though to be fair I watched Miracle Day over ten weeks, and CoE in a night. A little bit too intense for comfort, taken in one dose!
Episode 9
The scene where Gwens dad was finally taken away was good, as it finally showed some real emotion in the series, which has been sort've lacking up until now.
So the blessing is some sort of weird crack that runs through the Earth between Buenos Aires and Shanghai?! Wtf? Guess I could find out what it is by looking at the spoiler above, but I shall wait until next week to find out.

Episode 10
Totally agree Lol. Though I did like that they transfused Jack's blood. I was a bit shocked/disappointed that Rex didn't snuff it.
Who knows when we will get another series though?
Episode 10
The scene between Gwen and her family on the phone was good, but all in all it was a bland end to a bland series.
I expected Jack to be immortal again after the Blessing had been reset, and I also expected Rex to be immortal as soon as we heard that he had a transfusion of Jacks blood.
While we didn't learn anything more about the blessing, it didn't make me want to find out anything more about it either.
The first two seasons of Torchwood were good episodic TV, whilst the thrid season was one of the best i've ever seen! However, this season felt bland and overly stretched out. This could've been told over the course of a week like season 3, but really needed more fleshing out for its 10 episode run.
All in all i'm dissapointed with this season and with RTD for letting it happen
