Garth’s Bowtie

Garth, being obsessed with everything to do with the “Beforetimers” owned a very old and tatty looking red bowtie. The Glowworms, probably feeling that the tie was a violation to sanitary and fashion laws, seem to have misplaced it while cleaning up. Help us find it before Garth notices and retreats to the City Under Tor forevermore.

In each puzzle, each number can only be used once. When you’re finished, the coloured squares will help you figure out the password. Keep in mind that each puzzle is done in the order of natural precedence – that is – multiplication and division before addition and subtraction. But most of all – good luck!

Easy:
Only use the numbers 1 – 4

Medium:
Only use the numbers 1 – 9

Hard:
Only use the numbers 1 – 16

To make up the password, you need to see which numbers are in the coloured squares and work out their corresponding letters (eg. 1 = a). Then rearrange them to make a word that makes sense (hint-most likely, the password will have something mystical about it).
