It’s just a couple of weeks to go until Santa arrives, so here’s hoping he delivers exactly what you want on Dec 25. (and that you’ve all been nice instead of naughty )

Now that there are only three months until the launch of The Sending, and one month until Moonfair, it’s time to start getting active on the boards.

Guild points up for grabs:

Nominate one or more members in the Moonfair Awards to earn a point and check out the ‘Whose Line’ comp to not only earn a point but to read a snippet from The Sending.

Don’t forget the great OC re-read happening in the library, there could be a shine crystal in there.

The year has nearly half gone and with the expected release of The Sending sometime in the later half of the year we expect lots of happy happenings at Obernewtyn.net and in the Cavern. Be on the look out for a series of fun and interesting comps to do with The Sending launch.

If you haven’t had a look at the new comps available on Obernet, please check them out and enter one or two (or more). Entry earns you guild points for our guild and might just get you a nice shiny crystal as well.

Have a look at the OBC link for conversation on the Ober Chrons starting in June. A mass re-read should be lots of fun. Get your friends reading the books and joining the site and the Mystics.

Welcome to February, O Mystics! As preparations continue for the annual Mystics Ball in March, start thinking about your costumes. If you want to contribute ideas or offer your services, drop by the Ball’s planning thread and see what you can do to help. If you’re not quite sure what the Ball is all about, feel free to relive the fun of last year’s in the Function Hall (the Entrance is, as its name suggests, always a good place to start). If RPGs in general have you stumped, this guide is a great introduction.

As always, don’t forget to drop by headquarters…that is, the Mystics Cavern. While there is no Group Challenge up right now, keep an eye out for the next one – and, while you wait, why not put your feet up in the Lounge or visit one of the game threads?

We hope to see you all there, and at next month’s Ball!

Here Comes Moonfair!

Yes Mystics it’s that time of year again! All the fun and madness of Moonfair is heading our way. Keep an eye on the threads on obernewtyn.net for information on earning yourselves an extra special OPAL for participating in Moonfair. This is also the time of year for exams and end of year school work, so if you like to procrastinate, Moonfair is the way to go.

Lets see if we can make it seven in a row!

A lot of exciting things are happening around Obernewtyn.net. Check out the Theories and Thoughts Board for the new IC Twitter thread; snippets to speculate on = good times and lots of new theories.

Exam time often gets a little quiet in the cavern so we’d like to take this oportunity to wish you all the best of luck with mid-year exams. For those with a bit more time on their hands, keep a look out for the new Crystal Challenge and maybe add a crytal to your tally, and have a go at a writing or art comp to earn guild points for the Mystics.

Hello fellow Mystics and visitors. There is plenty happening around Obernet at the moment. Check out the Wanderers Wanderful Creature Carnival in the Function Hall. Or enter one (or all) of the art and writing comps that are running to earn shiny guild points for our magnificent guild.

Guild points are also up for grabs on the Theories and Thoughts board for completing an Ober Chrons chapter summary or a Character page (you can even earn a nice shiny crystal for these).

We’ve had a bit of movement around the lounge so pop in to say hi to your fellow Mystics and share your news.

And Happy Mother’s Day to any mums out there.

The Mystics Ball is in full swing so why not head over to the Function Hall and say hi? Big thanks to our hosts and everyone who helped out with images, avvies and sigs. Much thanks to Min for putting together the fortune machine, it’s just wonderful! Don’t forget to enter the upcoming comps to earn guild points. See the news page for details.

Another good way to earn guild points is by putting together a character profile. See the thread in the Theories and Thoughts board for more info.

With the colder weather coming along, why not head to the lounge, grab a chocca and a beanbag and let us know what’s been going on. Ari chased the dust bunnies out a few days ago to make room for Mystics to relax.

February Update

You might have noticed a bit of a glitch around Obernewtyn.net this week, but thanks to our wonderful Guild Member and MoO, Min, all is working properly again. Min does a great job keeping the site up and running and we are very proud to have her as our number one Mystic.

The latest Mystics Group Challenge; to design a quiz; is up and running so get writing for a chance to earn a sapphire. Don’t forget about the current writing and art comps as well. Guild points are up for grabs and we are currently in second place so get those entries in. Let’s show those Dreamies who’s got the most guild spirit!

January Update

Work is progressing on updating the Mystics Cavern website and don’t forget that you can email your suggestions and ideas in for consideration.
It’s been pretty quiet around the Cavern lately so why don’t you drop in and say hi. Let us know what you’ve been up to and keep up to date on the Planning for the ball.
Have a look at the updated profile page. If you haven’t submitted a profile please do and if you submitted one a while back it might be time for an update.

Don’t forget to check out the Function Hall on obernewtyn.net. Squirrel week is now underway and the Mystic’s Ball is coming up in March. The Wandies have an event planned for April and there are sure to be more throughout the year.

Keep an eye out for the next Mystics Group Challenge and possibly earn a nice shiny Crystal to add to your tally. Have a look at the banners that our members made for the last challenge.
