In this competition, you write a piece of fanfiction. However, the tricky part: it must contain certain elements. It must contain a scene with certain characters, an item that has some importance to the story, a character saying a given line and have some special words in there somewhere. It can be set in any time - if the characters are from the books' past, then consider setting your fanfiction in the past.
Confused? Thought you might be. Read on and it will make sense.

There are 3 levels to the competition. The harder the level, the more points, obviously.
Our club is made up of many different types of people, and ages. That is why there are levels. Members can enter more than one level, but the idea is that our younger members have a go at the lower level (level one) and our more advanced members go for the harder ones.

The item of importance should be in bold
The required dialogue should be underlined
The required words must be in italics

The three levels are as follows:

Level 1 (easiest)
Dialog: "I wish Matthew was here."
Words: thunder, tattoo, byzantine
Item: a candle
Scene Including (but not limited to) the characters:
Maryon, Domick, Roland, Gevan.

Level 2 (medium)
Dialog: "I wanted that potato"
Words: tristful, zenith, farouche
Item: a road sign
Scene Including (but not limited to) the characters:
Alad, Reuvan, Bruna, Lina.

Level 3 (hardest)
Dialog: "Have you tried using a pickaxe?"
Words: arcane, erudite, monomania
Item: a bonsai tree
Scene Including (but not limited to) the characters:
Salamander, Dragon, Analivia, Gwynedd, Hannah Seraphim.

Entries open from now until 14th May 2011.

Your entry should be no longer than 2000 words.
You can only enter each level once, so make sure you're happy with each entry before you submit it!
When you submit your entry, please include the first line of your story as either Level 1, Level 2 or Level 3, so we know which level you're attempting and can allocate points accordingly!

Level 1: - all entries receive: 5
1st: 40
2nd: 30
3rd: 20
Level 2: - all entries receive: 10
1st: 50
2nd: 40
3rd: 30
Level 3: - all entries receive: 15
1st: 60
2nd: 50
3rd: 40

Judging Coordinators:
Please volunteer for any of the judging positions below. Remember that Judging coordinators need to be MoOs or Guardians generally so if you don't hold one of these roles please only volunteer to be a regular judge.
Please note that if you volunteer now, but then aren't around when you're needed for judging in May, you will not be allowed to judge again!

To submit, please post directly to the Fanfiction section of the site, and select the "Specific Fanfic 3 Category (not the initial ones - make sure you category has a 3 in it!).
