... Last week, I went on a 4 hour train ride out of Prague to a lake called Machovo Jezero. It had been minus15 degrees most of the week leading up to the trip, but that day the temperature had risen to around zero, so I knew the ice would be thick enough not to crack and swallow me but that I would not freeze my head off skating.
