 Moonfair 2010 Planning Has Begun!

So why not pop over and lend a hand?

Yes that's right - it's that time of the year again - where we ask members to don on their creative hats and find their competive spirits to participate in Obernet's Annual Moonfair!

Each year Moonfair runs from 1 September to 31 October and involves a range of Carmody and Obernet related competitions ranging from whimsical writings, appealing artworks, puzzling quizzes... and many any other competitions submitted by members of the site (i.e. YOU)!

Planning for Moonfair 2010 has now commenced. Essentially we are after members to help come up with competitions for this year's event. It's a event for you - planned by you, so please stop by the Moonfair 2010 board and the Moonfair 2010: Explained thread for more information.

We look forward to seeing you there!

The Red Wind - in Stores Now!

Some of you already have copies - but some may not know; Isobelle's latest children's book (both written and illustrated by herself) came out this week in Australian bookstores!

For more information on the story, check out our Red Wind page here.

Want to know even more? Megan Burke of Literary Life has written an awesome review, which she's given us permission to post an excerpt of here:

"I am ashamed to say that despite Isobelle Carmody being one of Australia's most well-loved authors this, The Red Wind, is the first book of her's I've read.

And boy oh boy. Where do I begin? The story was... Magical. Brilliant. Amazing. And a whole bunch of other adjectives that I can't even think of at the moment.

From the get-go, Carmody had me in.

In fact, even when she was setting up the story with background and the daily routine of Bily and Zluty (awesome names, by the way) I decided that I could forever read the daily lives of Bily and Zluty."

To continue reading, make sure you check out the full Red Wind review!
