Where is this promised thread of yours, Min?! I bought the book this morning (I finished work too late yesterday), and then read The Dark Road over a dark chocolate mocha (real chocolate, real coffee). Best start to a day EVER! :D (Well, actually, I did a similar thing when I got TSK, and that was awesome too! ;)) So so lucky I wasn't asked to work today! I LOVE the story - worth the price of the book just for that! - and I'm also really looking forward to the stories from Juliet Marillier, Garth Nix, Jennifer Fallon and DM Cornish. (That is, once I stop rereading The Dark Road. :P)

[act]Is sad[/act] :( All the Angus and Robertsons in the area still won't be getting the book in for another week. And the local Borders store isn't planning on getting any at all. I guess this is a good thing for my exams, but it still sucks :P

Aww, that sucks. :( I was hoping when it was already available in my area that most places would be getting it this week. [act]grugs[/act]

It seems the bookstores simply weren't expecting much demand for the books. :-/
So, if you want it people, make sure you go and order it! :) Most stores only take 1-2 weeks to get orders in, so you wont have to wait too long...
Not sure how ppl are going finding copies but I was just looking at the Readings website - if you live in Melb apparently their Carlton, Hawthorn, Malvern and St Kilda stores have it in stock :)
So nothing at Angus & Robertsons or Borders at Knox if anyone is in my area. A&R actually said they hadn't ordered any, which was too shocking to even mention. At least with Borders, they had a computer that I used to order it from their online store, and then I remembered the code to get 20% off (I was contemplating getting another book) and it ended up being a little cheaper than at A&R. I couldn't be bothered waiting to see when the stores would have it, so ordered it! It should be here in 3-5 days! Hurray! :D

Gah, we'll all have to go out and teach all those silly bookstores a lesson about how popular Australian fantasy authors are!
EDIT: According to Borders it's not available online, but Dymocks have a cool new function where you search for the book and then type in your postcode and it tells you what local stores have it in stock. Apparently, not many :-/ since my search for a Melbourne postcode not only returns Melbourne stores, but also Canberra... You can also e-mail each individual store to confirm price and availability.
Dymocks stores that apparently have it in stock:
The Pines
Doncaster
Camberwell
Southland
Collins Place
Collins St
Bendigo
Albury
Tuggeranong (...where? :P)
Canberra
How much approximately have people been paying for it? Dymocks lists its online price as $35, but may vary in store, A&R says online price $34.95 (but, not available online) and Borders says online price $37.95 (but, again, not available online). Dymocks is currently winning my vote for convenience - it's online AND they tell me where it's in stock!

Ok, so I give in, I need this book! Can anyone name any online bookstores that do international delivery to the UK and have it in stock that I can scurry off to place my order from??

Gah! It would be in Canberra just as soon as I have no time to go into the city and get it, wouldn't it?! Maybe I can do an insane dash in tomorrow morning before I go back home... Otherwise I'd have to order it from my local A&R, and that would take two weeks! I assume when they just say "Canberra" they mean Civic? I sure hope so.

I've been looking at online stores and it seems that the cheapest postage I can find is 30$!!!!!!!! Which makes it around 65$ (£37) to get one book and thats just mad. Its so annoying as I know, especially since I work for an online bookstore, those costs could be MUCH cheaper. I don't need the silly people to send it by courrier. I'm happy to wait a month for reular post.
*sigh* I suppose I can live without this... :|

Oh, good thing I didn't rush into Civic after my exam then Queen! I left my exam early (don't worry, I had done every question, and I looked over it too), and ran to the uni bookshop because that was closest. They had it, and because I'm a member, it only cost $31.85! Hurrah!
Maz, I don't think you can live without this I'm afraid. I'll send you a copy if you want. I don't mind doing it :)
Yeah totally Maz - why don't one of us post you a copy?
I ordered mine from Borders online a couple of days ago (they must have run out of stock?) and it arrived just now! So exciting. I shouldn't read it now though, so many reports to do!

My bookstore still hasn't got it in! I ordered it last week, and I know they said it would take 1-2 weeks, but it's been over 1 week now, so I'm getting impatient, especially as today was my last chance to pick it up before mon/tues of next week...
I got mine a couple of days ago. The first two bookstores we went didn't have it, but the third one did. It was at Readings and there were only two copies left.
I got mine today from Dymocks on in Collins Place for $35! The only problem is I have to wait four days until my final assignment is handed in to read it... :( Just another incentive to get this stupid essay out of the way I suppose.
