I think Helen has other motives than revealing it all to the publice.
She definitely has her own agenda, i and i think she's telling each side what they want to hear and playing them off against each other
What a fantastic penultimate episode of Primeval!!
The conspiracy finaly comes to a head! It was done in a great way to keep the suspense going for as long as possible.
Seeing Lester with a machine gun keeping that bat creature at bay was superb! And then letting the mammoth out was a masterstroke. He finaly has some brains and a spine!
It was so frustrating that it ended on a cliff-hanger though!
I agree!!
Despite not liking Lester's character since...well, forever, it was great to see he has a brain.
Can't wait for next week. It's the last episode, isn't it? :(
It is the last episode for now, but they have already announced season 3
Its ok, the double-post monster and i are on good terms ;)
Well that was certainly an interesting final episode of season 2 of Primeval!
Leek is finaly dead! Or is he? We didn't actually see him die, but its probable that he id given the number of futurebats that were in the room.
Didn't expect Steven to die! Again, we didn't actually see his death (both were most likely omitted as its broadcast before 9pm), though we did see a grave this time.
Helen was behind the whole thing then. Not such a big suprise, though. However, her idea of manipulating the future was somewhat deranged. I suspect that Steven may be making an appearance in season 3, from what she said in the closing moments of the episode.
What was with all those guys at the end? Three possible explanations:
1 - Helen has found some cloning technology through one of the future anomolies
2 - Each one of those soldier guys has come from one possible future, though the laws of space/time should prevent them all from being in the same place at the same time (however, this is science fiction)
3 - The anomolies not only allow travel through time, but also to parallel worlds, where Helen could have picked up various parallel versions of the soldier guy from different dimensions.
Bring on Season 3!!!
Damn Primeval and their nail-biting cliff-hangers! Do we have to wait an entire year to get more?
WHY is Helen trying to change things?! Is she really that power-hungry?
And WHOA on Steven's death. I didn't expect that at all.
I agree, bring on season 3!
Wow, just finished season 2 and Loved it! Especially some of their creature choices. Although they really need to either stop giving Conner guns, or better yet - actually TEACH him how to use one ;) Can't wait for season 3 :D
++++++ Primeval Season 3 News ++++++++
- There will be 10 episodes.
- Dougie, Lucy, Hannah, Andrew, Juliet and Ben will all be back as their characters.
- Stephen is really dead and James Murray will not be returning.
- They won't be resetting the timeline to bring Claudia back but they have not finished with that story yet and there are still things to come as regards that.
- Captain Ryan will not be returning at any point.
- The lack of military back up was seen as a problem last series and they will rectify that with a new soldier, a Captain Becker.
- There will never be any romance between Nick and Helen.
- Abby and Connor will get closer but not necessarily end up together this series.
- They have already started planning for series 4.

Cool, I might actually be here for season 3 if it does come out in Jan.
I saw season 1 ages ago and was very excited here about a month ago when they had a primeval marathon weekend on ITV2. Sadly i went out on the Sunday when they showed all of season 2 so i taped it cause luckily the flat we're renting came with a tv/vcr combo. Sadly that tv stopped working a few days later so i never got to watch it! I'm house sitting for some friends in London in a few weeks and i think they have a VCR so i might get my marathon after all!
Stupidly i did see the last 10 mins of the finale when it originally aired so i know how it ends and i was not happy! :( I'm sad to see he won't be returning.
if you liked season 1, you'll love season 2, and it sounds as if season three will be even better
omgomgomg! I've been hanging out for this, and Ashes to Ashes to return. January's a bit of a wait, still!!
Thanks for the news DO!
Ohh, is Ashes to Ashes coming out in Jan as well? Hurray! I just watched BBC Vanity Fair with a very young Gene Hunt in it which was amusing.
I think Ashes to Ashes is due in February, methinks? So, have to wait until the beginning of next year still for anything half-decent!
Well, you'll have Dr Who at Xmas. I'm not sure on the date for Ashes season 2. I'll try and find out
Well, before i went away I finally got to see season 2. I thought it was great! It seemed much more polished then seaon 1. Just an over all feeling i suppose. I liked the new dynamic between the new Claudia and Nick - made it a bit more interesting i think. Was not happy where the Stephen story finished, but i guess he was starting to get annoying there, no matter how rediculously good looking he was. And as much as i want Abbie and Connor to get together, its much more fun when they are not, so i hope they stretch that out alot.
Can't wait for seaon 3!
It was funny though, cause just before i watched the episode with the Mamoth I was stuck in heavy traffic on the M25 which did make me giggle afterwards...
being stuck on the M25 in heavy traffic is not unusual...
Season three starts tonight at 7.20pm GMT!!!! Should be available for download by tomorrow.

Yay! I've been watching it. What do you think of it?
Personally I think this is one of the best seasons yet. Everything's so engaging!
I nearly wet myself laughing when Nigel Marvin turned up in the G-Rex episode! And then he got gobbled up ;D LOL, my little cousin would be distraught; NM's his (current) hero!
And - :O WHAT THE?! They've KILLED NICK CUTTER?! WHY?
I'm wondering if he'll turn up again as a clone in the last episode as a surprise, perhaps? I'm not sure I like 'Captain Everything' that appears to be replacing him...I mean, I do like the other new people in it...but, first Steven, now Nick? The two main characters?
Helen Cutter is such a brilliant bad guy. She annoyed me a little in past seasons, but this year she looks to be spot-on. Abby and Conner are great, as usual (though I think Abby's hair gets shorter and shorter every episode). Jenny's fantastic (I really hope she permanently becomes the team leader). And Ben Miller's character makes me laugh every time I see him, even though he shouldn't...because of his other comedy show mainly :P
Anyway, I'm really loving it, despite the best accent on the show being culled.

It is the best season yet!
I loved the episode with the G-Rex taking on a 747. And when it turned over the car, it seemed like a small nod to Jurassic Park
I can't believe they killed Nick Cutter either! I certainly didn't see that one coming! Not sure how they managed to keep it a secret.
I suspect he will be back in one form or other, though i'm sure that it is rumoured that Steven would be making a return.
I liked the episode with the 'haunted house'. Would be interesting to see more of that creature (who looked like a cross between a gremlin and a house elf).

Huzzuh! Oh, and that airport episode - was I dreaming, or was that Dunsfold (where Top Gear's filmed)? :P
:O Steven's rumoured to come back? BRILLIANT! And I do hope they return Nick-as-clone, somehow. Try as I might, I couldn't hunt down any internet-buzz about why the actor would have wanted to leave...
For the haunted house episode, I would love to see that little beasty return somehow. It reminded us of Gollum, and I could have sworn I heard it actually speaking words, rather than just muttering randomly. Paul was certain it was friendly, and there was something else in the house (until..you know, the end, when it actually started killing people) :P
It's so interesting how the bat-creature-predator things appear to have been genetically engineered by the government. I'm betting they're playing with DNA of different creatures to create the ultimate soldiers? Looks like we'll get a much close look at it next week, anyhow!
Oh - and weren't the ratty-chipmunk-beavers just adorable? I'm glad Abby/Conner got to keep a couple.
It could've been where Top Gear was filmed, but i'm not sure. There are a lot of old airfields in the UK.
I definitely heard the gremlin creature muttering words, though I couldn't make out quite what they were.
It does appear that the government may have engineered the bat creatures, and I guess that that is what Helen is trying to prevent in her own way.
The artefact is interesting. The shot we saw of the inside of it showed an anomaly...
Last weekends episode was good! Liked the fungal monster, and it really looked like Conner was gong to die at one point!
Can't believe Jenny left! I bet she'll be back though (most likely in the last two episodes. Call it a hunch)
Interesting episode!
The future girl was interesting! When her face pixelated I guessed correctly that it was some sort of projection!
Another mention of Claudia Brown! Bet some of the characters will be back at the end of the season..
There was no Primeval on yesterday as ITV decided to show the football instead. I hate it when they do that!!
The last episode will be broadcast next Saturday
What a finale!
I'm glad that Helen got the end that she deserved! Killed by a raptor
Three of the team are now trapped in the past with no apparent way back! Wonder how thhey'll explain that in season four
I dunno - but I agree - what a finale!!
I want more Primeval! :P
I have to wonder where they'll take it, now that all our 'bad guys' - Helen, and Christine, are dead. Yes, Danny, Abi and Conner are stuck (in two different times) - so perhaps we're up for "Primeval 4: Back to the Future" - hehe - that'll be the major thread of next year's arc? Figuring out how everything works, and getting back. Though; there are two anomaly devices in the past, now. Perhaps they'll just use them, get home, and get on with the usual story/program.
It doesn't seem fair that it's ending so soon - I wish they created more than 10 episodes!
I suppose they think a shorter season would deliver better quality episodes. I tend to agree, but i too would like a longer season.
I suppose Helen's device could be used by Danny to get back to Conner and Abi, and then get them home, as her one still had power.
The next season could be about figuring out where the future predators come from, if the Arc has anything to do with it and how to stop them.
Helen did allude to the fact that the Arc (or something like it) had something to do with the predators
