true true true min. and i keep forgettin about matties internal hatrid of ariel. it was evident in teh first book, but i thought quiet tonned down for the rest...but thats prob jsut me *sigh* since its a non intensional event daffyd who is more inclinded to do his own thing and not mention it to elf will prob do it. like sure matty did in ahsling but elf still new directions (well ruffly) if u no wat i mean...prob not cos now im lost! *sigh*
i think what has happened to him has sort of made him tougher and angrier, its torn him apart and he had to become less sweet to deal with it all. i mean he lost all the members of the mindlink as well as gilaine who he is in love with. i dont think hes evil but maybe a bit unbalanced because of all the grief and certainly angry. well thats my two cents!
luv bobbi
My Grandmother would call Daffyd a very angry young man... [img]http://s3.images.proboards.com/smiley.gif" alt=":)" border="0"/>
KSL
Here's a thought - seeing as we reckon Daffyd going to end up in the Red Queen's Land (just like everyone else, really!)....
Then Matthew could be the destroyer, pushed into it by Ariel, but have Daffyd caught up in it somehow... so at the critical moment it would be a combination of all three: Matthew as the destroyer, but with Ariel and Daffyd close by.
And if Isobelle does check out this site: ignore previous command not to make Matthew the destroyer. Of course we'd be devastated if he was, but THAT'S THE POINT! It would be devastating yet perfect and heart-wrenching at the same time.
JUST DON'T KILL OFF DAMEON!!! Or Rushton for that matter - me being a Rushton fan and all.
no no no no no no no!
Enough of this talk about Matty being the Destroyer, I promise that he isn't! (I can just tell ok!)
Ariel is definitely the Destroyer, no question about it. H'rayka is the SAME as Destroyer. It's beast speak for Destroyer, like Innle is the same as Seeker.
Argh! Im right people! Why can't you see the light?
talisha
Because H'rayka means 'he who brings destruction', not simply destroyer, and we're interpreting it as meaning that Ariel is leading someone, as Atthis is leading Elspeth.
EXACTLY! Ariel isn't the Destroyer. It's too obvious!
Besides which, the Destroyer doesn't know what they're going to do, and what happens will be an accident.
And I find it hard to believe Ariel will do anything ACCIDENTLY. Come on!!!
KSL
Yeah. Ariel always was upfront about his evilness. He was proud of being a sadistic psychopath. If what happens in the end is an accident, then Ariel won't be to one doing the accident. If he was the Destroyer, then what happens in the end would more then likely be pre-meditated.
ELSPETH IS THE DESTROYER!!!!!!
Hi Brydie!!! [img]http://s3.images.proboards.com/grin.gif" alt=";D" border="0"/>
I can see the argument for Elf being the Destroyer, but I don't think she is. It's more likely someone close to her, like Matty, and she ends up in a situation where she has to choose between saving the world or saving Matty. *cries* I don't want it to happen like that, but it would be a nice dramatic twist at the end. Especially if Dameon was there, then the original three would be back together in the end. Which, I think, is going to happen. I think that Elf and Dameon will travel to TLOTRQ, meet up with Matty, and save the day. But that's just what I think.
Okay are we going to say that Matty is the destroyer and Dyffad has an important role to play. Hey sorry if this has been said but, Does anyone think Domick was coerced by Ariel what if he became conscience of is powers in the 4th book!
ARGH NO !!!
a TALENTED ariel.....GASP!!
but ur probably right! he definatly does have powers...evil, sadistic ones. maybe hes a whatsame callem...erm....u know the deformed ones...it just slipped my mind
I know that you guys interprite it differently (H'rayka)...
There are so many things that happen by accident in the books, chance meetings and things that change every situation, so whose to say that ariel coulnd't accidentally set off the weaponmachines? He wouldn't know how to do it, just like elf doesn't know how to dismantle them.
His accidentally setting them off could be an accident like any other possible Destroyer candidate.
Ic said that what happnes in the end is an accident... does she specify what is an accident? For all we know it could be Dragon drowning which was an accident....
talisha
Okay, has this been done??
What if....
RUSHTON is the destroyer?
He has that oddly latent power that worked in the mindmeld-prehaps his mental torture was the catalyst in releasing his power.
He could be considered Elspeths opposite equal.
He is like Swallow in that he is a love interest-sort-of character with a lot of history in terms of his geneology.
It does seem obvious (like Matthew being the destroyer)-once u think about it.
And he has been there from the start.
I dont really want the destroyer to be someone lovely like Matthew/Rushton, it's soo much easier to hate the 'bad guy'. AND i am still campagining for a HAPPY ENDING- ok Isobelle.
oooh!!! I like!!!
They will break my heart much less!!! And if it's true, then SURELY Rushton and Elf aren't meant to be.
Mwahahahahahahahahaha!!!
But I shall save that for another board!!!!!!!
Good thinking, Jessie, and welcome to the new boards!!!
KSL
ohhhh but they ARE meant to be together, didn't "Ravek my Elspethlove" just make u melt!
I just really hope that he doesnt succede in his subliminal mission-Ariel is such a puppet master, how he wll bring Destruction is another interesting matter-is it an active manipulation of somebody like Rushton or something as simple as physically bringing the Destroyer like Matthew to TLOTRQ
Make me melt?
It made me vomit!!!
Read the Dameon/Rushton debate and you will discover that I am no big fan of Rushton!
I luv your theory though. It would be a real heartbreaker for Elf. And if she's sad, I'm sad. (But not as sad as I would be if it was Matty!!!)
KSL
yes, im betting rushton if it isnt elspeth herself.
hahahah, i wonder why so many people have backlashed against Rushton, i'm sticking up for him on the Dreamweavers board, but i dont know where the real fight is.
Rushton as the Destroyer could mean some big decisions for Elspeth, but i'm thinking about that line about Elspeth leaving him when she walks the Darkroad, was there something like that, about leaving obernewtyn behind or something??
Yeah, that line was in there.
Go to the Dining Hall. That's where the debate is raging. (I can't believe I'm telling this to a Rushton supporter!!!)
Later!!!
KSL
I'll support t rushtn theory it has an outcome that I would like but I would prefer it other ways. [img]http://s3.images.proboards.com/undecided.gif" alt=":-/" border="0"/>
Yeah, I can see how Rushton could be the Destroyer too, but I'm still on the Matthew band wagon. [img]http://s3.images.proboards.com/tongue.gif" alt=":P" border="0"/>
Mathew bandwagon all the way!
