Firstly, Welcome to Writersmerge. Hopefully you will find inspiration and motivation here for your writing. We like to get to know our new members so please take the time to answer the follow questions. Happy Writing!
What sort of Writing do you do?
What genre do you like to write?
Ever been Published or won any Competitions?
How long have you been Writing?
What are your writing habits?
Who reads your work?
Why do you write?
And finally, where can we read your work?
Ummm... Hi I'm Zara the Unicron Rider. I was always kinda of reallu nervous about joining Writersmerge. But after a bit of consideration I decided I would try and see how it goes.
I mostly write poems but sometimes I write songs (but that is very rarely). I'm really into Sci-fi and Fantasty and love escaping into unkown worlds. I've never ever won a compition or anything like that, but my teachers and friends say I'm pretty good with words and such.No one much reads my writings, apart from a couple of really close friends but that doesn't happen very often. I write because I can. I can't really draw how I feel so I do it with writing. I've decided to make a forum on my poems, so that is going to be an experiance! XP
Hey Zara, don't worry, we don't bite around here (well, maybe Vestie does, but only in her stories).
Thanks for the assurance, I feel like I'm a real Obernet member now! :nods:
Hi Zara - welcome :). Good to have you on board.
Welcome to Writersmerge, Zara! I'm sure you'll find plenty of inspiration around here to fuel your writing. :D
Hi, I'm Ala. I'm a budding Fantasy and Science Fiction author. I kinda don't really have much to say I said it ll on the Ober.net welcome thread thingy. So if you wanna learn more about me look there because I did this lovely little spiel about awesome things.
So, um, yeah. I hope that I'll be able to share and gain feedback on some of my work here in Writersmerge.
Thanks.
Welcome to WM, Ala. Looking forward to seeing your work.

Start yourself a thread and jump right in...oh and welcome
Hi, I'm Hermione. I like writing stories, my favourite types being fantasy, adventure, quest and mystery. I also like writing poems, but since I tend to write them for fun, they tend to be sort of random and weird. That's about all. Oh, and I am a misfit.

Welcome to WM. Have a look around and make yourself at home.
Hi Hermione. WM is a little quiet at the moment, so feel free to start a thread and post some of your poems for us all to admire :). I'm sure most of us here sympathise with and admire random, weird writing :).
Hi, I'm whisper, I write all sorts of things, all over the genres, I'm not sure I'd have much that falls under the restrictions you guys have set, so I might not be able to post much, but I am interested to see what is out there..
Hey, Whisper. Welcome to WM. Even if you can't share much you can still participate in things like OberWriSu and the like--and we always need more folk prodding others into writing :)
Hi, I'm Cinda. I enjoy reading and writing fantasy, sci-fi and historical fix, although nothing I've published online.
What is OberWriSu? :)

Cinda, I'm not sure if you still need the answer, but if you go into the forums, then writersmerge there should be a sub thread that covers all of the OberNoWriSu stuff, including an explanation, I'm not sure how to link it here unfortunately, sorry.
Hi everyone my name is Kerryn and I'm a writer. I LOVE all things epic and dark fantasy the richer the world and characters the better for me to lose myself in.
A Bit About Me
I'm 28 with 3 young girls (1.5, 3 & 5) glutton for punishment, I know. I started writing poetry when I was very young and began my epic fantasy masterpiece when I was 16. Unfortunately for many years I was too busy pumping out babies to write (I hit a pretty big wall, hard and for a long time the words just wouldn't come) so my manuscript is incomplete. I'm putting that piece aside for now and working on developing my skills through a fantasy, horror and Sci-fi writing course and by pumping out as many short stories as I can.
So far I've submitted 3 written assessments receiving 2 distinctions and a credit, yay!! I'm loving the course but must confess I could be more committed.
While I have many, many great authors that inspire me I would have to say that Isobelle Carmody's Obernewtyn Chronicles are my all time favourite and most treasured books in my library. I find myself constantly rereading them and each time that I do my appreciation for the richness and depth of her works awakens my inner muse and makes me feel a deep urge to fulfil my life's works, yes works, one of my problems is I have several stories and novels in progress at the same time, all at various stages of their development. Every time I try to focus on just one I'll have an amazing idea that fits one of the novels I'm not supposed to be working on.
I'll get there though, one day lol. I could talk all day about my inspirations, writing process, hurdles I've faced, the novels and short stories I'm working on but I won't. I still have a lot to learn but am proud to call myself a weaver of fantasy and builder of worlds. Not trying to blow my own horn but I'm not afraid to say I have talent, all I need to do is hone my skills and focus on my work and one day I'll see my name gracing the cover of my very own published novel.
Welcome, Kerryn. Best of luck with your publishing goals. If you'd like, post a summer writing goal in our OberNoWriSu threads and we can help you stay on track. Maybe. I know a lot of us get easily distracted by side projects, too :).
