Hey guys
Sorry for the late thread! This month's book is The Help by Kathryn Stockett, the book that the recent movie was based on. My Mum recently read this and was nearly late for a wedding because she wanted to finish it, so it must be good!
I haven't read the book or seen the movie, so hopefully we can share our thoughts as we go along :)
I've seen the film and read the book, in that order, which is a rare thing for me. As a general rule I like to read the book first because the film is rarely equal to or better than.
In the case of the Help (which I loved), I thought that the movie did definite justice to the book, and vice versa. The book wasn't spoiled by my seeing the movie first.
I started reading this on the plane today (so I'm halway through already), and I'm loving it! Really want to know what happened to Constantine...! I love how it's written from the three different perspectives, and that it's written in their accent and the way they use words too.
