Ahh, tis gorgeous MK!
Unflattening - you mean how their hair is single blocks of colour? What about doing what many animators do these days to give their own cartoons a pseudo-3D feel? Eg: (apologies in advance for the subject matter, but it's the first show that came to mind that uses the effect ~:| ):
~Link~Every right line (so, hair, face - every black edge) has a darker effect; every left has lighter, with definite lines so you don't lose the animated effect altogether. Maybe try something like that? It should be very quick to do too, since you'll just take duplications of existing shapes, colour overlay them and reduce the opacity.
Arwen - the dreamtrails look so good now, with that rainbow-pearl effect - but I agree with MK. Try add some sort of cloudy effect down the bottom, so they're not so stark. Like, Dreamtrails rising from the mists.
Can you try Elspeth's hands pointing down? They're proportioned well but they're in a bit of a *flail* pose. This might be a lot of work - but what if her hands were pointing straight down (follow the line of her upper arm, I mean) and some more dreamtrails were wrapping around her wrists and snaking up her arms, sort of symbolising how she's 'shackled' almost to the prophecies?
I do like the suspicious glare of Cat's kitty, but moving him down there does leave that big black space in the top left corner. The Gahltha side is good, because it's got clouds - are you planning on something to go in the top left (like...um, I guess dark clouds? Or pin-prick stars?)? Hope that makes sense :-/
I'm working on another entry too, that I wanted to run past you guys. This is a mash-up of about 5 of my London photos, to look like the city at the end of the dark road that Hannah's on (and I may have been a teeeeeensy bit influenced by my favourite Monet here, so it is hopefully feeling a little impressionist-ic):
~Link~Questions:
Is the moon out of place? It feels odd to me, like it's in the foreground instead of the background...
Do the blacklands look...plausibly blacklandish? I had to pretty much paint the entire thing over the lush green grass the original photo had in it (silly Hyde Park for being so green and unblacklandish! ~:|). Thanks guys, any other comments appreciated as well.
