The reality is that large signatures with lots of images cause pages to load slowly, especially for our Dial up friends.
Because of this, the limit for signature size on obernewtyn.net is 200 pixels high, by 500 pixels wide. This includes all images and text in the signature. For those not sure, that is this big:
Any user with a signature that is too large will be sent a PM from a MoO or Guardian requesting that the image be resized, or your signature will be replaced with this image:
If you receive warnings three times, your ability to create a signature will be suspended for one month.
As a handy helpful way of telling whether your signature is the correct size: any extra information you put in your signature will just be cut off:
