Alyzon Awrh St
"Every minute that passed I saw and felt and smelled and heard details that showed me how amazingly rare it was for people to actually say what they meant. Words were like bubbles on the surface of the water; the truth was a shifting current beneath the surface, powerful and silent."

Alyzon Whitestarr thinks of herself as more white mouse than star, until something happens that heightens her senses, enabling her to smell people's feelings, perceive their essences, and see flashes of their lives.

She is shaken to discover that some people's spirits are afflicted by a strange and ravenous disease which is both sentient and hungry for new hosts. Seeking to learn how the disease is transmitted, Alyzon's investigations lead her to a mysterious entrepreneur, a secretive group of young people with a habit for violence, and ultimately back to her own beloved family, where she will learn a shattering truth about the world...

Then Alyzon realises that, just as she can perceive the sickness, so the sickness can perceive her...

Reviews / Recommendations: Alyzon Whitestarr review by Nef. I recently picked up Alyzon Whitestarr for the first time in a few years. It was one of those books, written in the LOOOOOONG wait between The Keeping Place and The Stone Key, that we all picked up and devoured, then … forgot, basically. Until I picked it up again, the main thing I remembered about the book was being confused by one typo where Alyzon was suddenly inexplicably talking to Harlen (it should have read Harrison) mid conversation. So it was a pleasant surprise to pick the book up and read it again after so long... Read On... Purchase Alyzon Whitestarr online:
