About us: Message From the Guild Mistress

If you're reading this then I guess you must be new and/or are exploring our website. On this page I'm going to attempt to explain some of the characteristics that make us the Dreamweaver Guild.

We Dreamweavers are a friendly and definitely loveable bunch. We talk about everything and anything, often getting side tracked by randomness. We play games, discuss a wide variety of topics (although some come up more frequently than others *glances at other guilds directions guiltily* ) and celebrate birthdays. The guild leaders are always happy to help in any way they can, as are the rest of the members. So don't be afraid to ask any questions!

If you've been looking around you would most likely have heard a lot about squirrels, a bit about chocolate mousse and many a tiny little bit about televisions. This is because those three things are the Dreamweavers mascots! Admittedly, they were mostly a result of randomness, but each held a certain reason. The squirrel is a small elite animal that is fast moving, as opposed to clunky antelopes. The chocolate mousse is a desert and fits in with the theme of chocolate as a mascot, because who doesn't like chocolate? The television was chosen for its flexibility. It can show whatever we want, when we want... we own it after all! Much more useful than barking toilets don't you agree?

The Dreamweavers are also the proud hosts of the Story Den (see link above). The Story Den was once the Dreamweavers message boards, but with the introduction of guild message boards at Obernet it slowly transformed into a dedicated writing haven. When the current website for Ober.net came along the Story Den was slightly forgotten, so in a move to revamp it we brought it over to the main forum and opened it up for everyone! Unlike Writersmerge at Ober.net, the Story Den has many multi-author stories always waiting for someone to add to them and continue the story! Feel free to pop on over and put in your two cents, whatever your guild is!

You may have noticed that many of the members of our guild have a little counter in their profile with four coloured acorns and one gold egg. This is our reward system! Its purpose is to encourage Dreamweavers to be active members and to encourage a sense of pride in our guild. You may have also seen the big gold eggs in some Dreamweavers signatures. Those eggs are a special reward that hatch after a while to reveal a lovely little creature (well, in most cases anyway).

I'm sure by now you've realised that each guild has many good points, and in the end all the members of Ober.net are really very friendly, no matter which guild they belongs to! Of course, we think we're the best, but it's good to have that extra touch of competitiveness...

When you go to chose a guild remember: the point of being in a guild is to feel like you are a valued part of the community and that is the Dreamweavers guarantee!
